Cricket

Congratulations Cricket!  I've sent you an email.  Please respond within 48 hours or another winner will be chosen.

I've loved reading everyone's comments about the scariest books. I've added several to my TBR list! Thanks to all for making the Spooktacular Giveaway a successful blog hop!!!

I'm excited to participate in the Spooktacular Giveaway Hop hosted by I am a reader, not a writer & the diary of a bookworm!

I thought I would share with you the scariest book I've read so far....And I hope you'll share your scariest book with me!

What is the scariest book I've read?

Stephen King is the master of scary.
The Shining and It are among the most scary books I've read.

I remember watching the movie Salem's Lot as a child. I had nightmares for weeks of the scene with the boy scratching at the window....

"Open the window. Open the window, Mark. Open the window, Mark. Please! Let me in! It's OK, Mark, I'm your friend."

Even today this movie quote gives me goose bumps!

In honor of all the things Spooky, I am rewarding one lucky individual with a free book of their choice (up to $10) from the book depository.  As long as the shipping is free (be sure to check the list of countries the book depository ships to free), you are eligible to win. The Giveaway ends at midnight on November 1st!!

Check out the list of other blogs participating in the Blog Hop below!  Have fun entering all the Fabulous Giveaways!!  Good Luck Everyone!!!

  1. Hmm, the scariest book I've even read is probably something by Stephen King!

  2. The scariest I've read would have to be one of the zombie books I've read- The Forest of Hands and Teeth or Rot and Ruin, maybe?

  3. Hey!

The scariest book I read this year... I guess it would be Anna Dressed in Blood? I loved it, though I don't think it's really scary. Stephen King is scary reading, but I'm not overly into getting properly scared, just a bit startled or something. I like dark reads though, so it's something of a contradiction I guess?

Thanks for stopping by my place and saying hi, following you back :D
    Love the giveaway.

  4. Hey there!

Although I'm a huge horror movies' fan, I've never read a lot of horror books. I did read a lot of book Jack the Ripper related, and I guess that must be the most scary stuff, especially Diary of Jack the Ripper.

    Great Giveaway!

  5. Stephen King is definitely super creepy! Dreamcatcher was the first book of his that I read and I was nauseated at some bits (I was 15). Then I read Salem's Lot. I think that was actually one of my first vampire books. Other than Stephen King, Poppy Z. Brite's books were really scary but also awesome!
There are also quite a few that scared me when I was younger but probably wouldn't anymore now.
My favorite Stephen King is the Dark Tower series though! Sooo amazing.
    Thanks for the giveaway!

  6. The Shining by Stephen King is probably the one that sticks in my head the most. Between the old hotel, the woman in the bathtub, and the topiary bushes, it was a fright-fest. I also love being creeped out by The Other (an old book by Thomas Tyron).

For the record, Salem's Lot is one of my all time fave movies (the original) and favorite books. One book I couldn't even finish because it bothered me too much was The Amityville Horror. I read half of it in one sitting and then tossed it because I was too creepd out!
