I thought I would share with you the scariest book I've read so far....And I hope you'll share your scariest book with me!
What is the scariest book I've read?
Stephen King is the master of scary.
The Shining and It are among the most scary books I've read.
I remember watching the movie Salem's Lot as a child. I had nightmares for weeks of the scene with the boy scratching at the window....
"Open the window. Open the window, Mark. Open the window, Mark. Please! Let me in! It's OK, Mark, I'm your friend."
Even today this movie quote gives me goose bumps!
In honor of all the things Spooky, I am rewarding one lucky individual with a free book of their choice (up to $10) from the book depository. As long as the shipping is free (be sure to check the list of countries the book depository ships to free), you are eligible to win. The Giveaway ends at midnight on November 1st!!

Hmm, the scariest book I've even read is probably something by Stephen King!
ReplyDeleteStephen King is the King of Scary!!
DeleteThe scariest I've read would have to be one of the zombie books I've read- The Forest of Hands and Teeth or Rot and Ruin, maybe?
ReplyDeleteI really like zombie books!I just finished reading Wisteria. Of course, it has "flesh eaters". I'll have a review of Wisteria posted later this month.
DeleteHey!
ReplyDeleteThe scariest book I read this year... I guess it would be Anna Dressed in Blood? I loved it, though I don't think it's really scary. Stephen King is scary reading, but I'm not overly into getting properly scared, just a bit startled or something. I like dark reads though, so it's something of a contradiction I guess?
Thanks for stopping by my place and saying hi, following you back :D
Love the giveaway.
Thanks for the follow back! I love blog hops. It allows me to visit blogs and meet new bloggers. I've not read Anna Dressed in Blood but I've heard it's really good.
DeleteHey there!
ReplyDeleteAlthough I'm a huge horror movies' fan, I've never read a lot of horror books. I did read a lot of book Jack the Ripper related, and I guess that must be the most scary stuff, especially Diary of Jack the Ripper.
Great Giveaway!
Andreia (contact@tyrony.com)
You know...I've never read any books on Jack the Ripper. I've seen Jack the Ripper movies. I'll have to check out Diary of Jack the Ripper.
DeleteStephen King is definitely super creepy! Dreamcatcher was the first book of his that I read and I was nauseated at some bits (I was 15). Then I read Salem's Lot. I think that was actually one of my first vampire books. Other than Stephen King, Poppy Z. Brite's books were really scary but also awesome!
ReplyDeleteThere are also quite a few that scared me when I was younger but probably wouldn't anymore now.
My favorite Stephen King is the Dark Tower series though! Sooo amazing.
Thanks for the giveaway!
glenraven.27(at)gmail(dot)com
I love SK's Dark Tower series it is one of my all time favorite reads.
DeleteI haven't read the Dark Tower Series yet. I'll have to check it out.
DeleteThe Shining by Stephen King is probably the one that sticks in my head the most. Between the old hotel, the woman in the bathtub, and the topiary bushes, it was a fright-fest. I also love being creeped out by The Other (an old book by Thomas Tyron).
ReplyDeleteFor the record, Salem's Lot is one of my all time fave movies (the original) and favorite books. One book I couldn't even finish because it bothered me too much was The Amityville Horror. I read half of it in one sitting and then tossed it because I was too creepd out!
Salem's Lot terrified me as a child. It has taken me years to overcome my fear of vampires. Thank goodness I've outgrown that fear!
DeleteI have to say that Stephen King's Salem's Lot tops my list of scary books, that and he had a novella called The Mist holy crap I was afraid of fog for years after. Thanks Carin mawmom at gmail dot com
