Genre: Urban Fantasy (adult) (new adult)
Book Blurb:If you’d asked me a week ago, I would have told you that the best cupcakes were dark chocolate with chocolate cream cheese icing, that dancing in a crowd of magic wielders — the Adept — was better than sex, and that my life was peaceful and uneventful. Just the way I liked it. That’s what twenty-three years in the magical backwater of Vancouver will get you — a completely skewed sense of reality. Because when the dead werewolves started showing up, it all unraveled … except for the cupcake part. That’s a universal truth.
This 68,000 word urban fantasy is the first book of the Dowser Series by author Meghan Ciana Doidge.
Pull Quotes:

“I didn’t wet my pants, but I was glad I hadn’t drunk anything all afternoon. Usually I was an eight-glasses-a-day sort of girl.” – Chapter One

“I thought you weren’t going to bite me tonight.” I said, pleased that my voice sounded much calmer than my mind.
He tilted his head and gazed at my neck … actually at my carotid artery. My pulse sped up; I was surprised it could get any higher actually.
“I wasn’t,” he murmured.

“You expect me to follow you out into the pre-dawn to meet some guy who has absolutely no authority over me? Ever heard of email or the phone?” – Jade, Chapter Six
“Maybe a vampire knowing where you lived was sort of like seeing the signature on your own death certificate.” – Chapter Seven
“I wasn’t pleased with my reaction to his touch — like he was a warm cashmere blanket and a cup of dark, hot chocolate rolled into one sexy, well-muscled, dangerous package.” – Chapter twelve
Review Quotes:
“Witches, werewolves and vampires...oh my! Cupcakes, Trinkets, and Other Deadly Magic is a fun-filled trip into a world where bad magic can get a good witch down and power isn't always accessed through hard work and determination ... sometimes it's stolen.” – Headshot Heather, doubleshotreviews.com
“This was a fun, action filled urban fantasy that will also have you running to bake cupcakes! … and I loved the unpredictability of not knowing what would happen next.” – Sarah, Sarah Elizabeth’s Bookshelf
"The mystery and suspense build up to a riveting and mind-blowing conclusion that shows Doidge as the brilliant riddler that she is. A definite five star even without the mouth-watering cupcake teasers. More please!" - Cindi Clubbs, Mommasez...blog, www.ccclubbs.com
"Complete with witches, werewolves, vampires, and necromancers, this novel will keep readers laughing and turning the pages as Jade tries to figure out the truth behind the deaths surrounding her—the deaths that all point to her. " - 4 stars, Shana, A Book Vacation
